Generators are usually a die-cast housing and a shaft made of steel machine. The number of coils wound stator is very different from one model to another, so there's really no way to answer. Ranging in size from the size of a toaster bigger than your living room. Typically used to produce energy from 3 Phases for industrial plants, usually 3-phase motors.
